On the day of your implant surgery, we take special care to ensure your comfort every step of the way. IV sedation or other sedation options are administered if preferred to allow for pain-free, positive procedures. Our doctors then use the 3D images from your cone beam CT scans and X-Nav dental implant technology to digitally plan implant guides. This guided implant surgery technique increases success rates, accuracy and precision of care for reliable treatment that lasts. Depending on your needs, we may incorporate Growth Factors into implant sites. These biocompatible materials promote new bone and gum tissue growth and expedite healing. In some cases, we may place a healing abutment immediately following implant surgery to maintain the implant site during the recovery phase. Sutures are then placed (if necessary) and post-op instructions are given.
Some implants can be loaded (restored with a crown, bridge or denture) immediately, while traditional implants must first heal before being restored. On average, it takes three to six months for implants to fully heal, or integrate with the jawbone. Drs.
