A sinus lift, or a sinus augmentation, is a type of bone grafting procedure that improves the ability to replace upper premolar and molar teeth with dental implants. When these teeth are lost, the floor of the maxillary sinus cavity above tends to expand into the space once occupied by tooth roots. This reduces the amount of bone available to support implants. Our doctors gently raise the sinus cavity floor, adding bone tissue beneath to increase available bone height and width. In some cases, implants can be placed during a sinus lift procedure.

Ridge preservation is a similar bone grafting procedure, in which we add bone tissue samples directly to extraction sites, preserving the area for future implant placement.
